This is because for the first time Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the breath of fresh air the franchise needed after a few bumpy rides over the last few years. The multiplayer put our boots back on the ground while at the same time introducing manual healing and a more diverse class system to heighten the experience. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 offers a polished traditional competitive multiplayer mode that keeps what's always worked for the series: a broad assortment of maps and modes, the ability to take advantage of powerful rewards to earn scorestreaks, and a growth system that lets players upgrade and customize their weapons and gear. And yet, the good people at Treyach who made Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC) have repeatedly said that it still has something for people who prefer to play solo. As one of those people, I decided to put their assertion to the test, and found that while you can play this on your own, it may not be for very long.

Then, of course, there’s the mode which shot Call of Duty into the big leagues — the now-classic multiplayer. They’ve removed the wallrunning and aerial jumping from recent Black Ops titles, which is kind of a shame but their implementation always felt tacked-on and lacked fluidity anyway, so it’s not as huge a loss as it could have been.
